Apps and desktop Chrome
| Platform | Services |
|---|---|
| iPhone, iPad & Android | YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Plex, Crunchyroll, Paramount+, and Google Drive. |
| Desktop Chrome extension | YouTube and Netflix. The extension is in beta; the public install link is coming soon. |
Mobile and Chrome users can join supported YouTube and Netflix parties together. A service available in the mobile app is not automatically supported by the Chrome extension. Features and service behavior can vary between versions.
Everyone needs access
Check that the selected title is available to everyone in their region and subscription tier. An invitation does not bypass a provider's login, paywall, age restrictions, or digital-rights controls. Each participant streams through their own access.
For Google Drive, share only a video you have permission to use. Other participants must be able to access the shared file. TurtleTV does not automatically change the permissions of a private file.
Netflix and advertisements
For the Chrome beta, use Netflix playback without ads for the most reliable synchronization. Ad-supported playback is currently a known limitation: advertisements can give participants different timelines, causing drift or failed seeks.
If a guest sees a login screen or Play prompt, finish that step in Netflix. If the title is missing in one region, select another title available to everyone. Rejoining cannot grant access to unavailable content.
What carries across devices
Core party features include synchronized playback and chat. Voice depends on the host's eligible membership and microphone permissions. Some Premium benefits, including mobile Picture-in-Picture and GIF features, are specific to the app; do not assume every mobile control exists in Chrome.
Use the current app and extension versions when troubleshooting. A change made by a streaming service can affect compatibility, so report the service, device, and symptom through support.
